Students learn better in trauma-informed environments

Take a class on your own or contact us to learn about group training for your department, school or district.

Why Training?

TRAUMA makes learning hard, trained educators make it easier.

Trauma impacts children’s brains, behavior and socialization skills, making it more difficult for them to focus, follow directions or trust others.

Traditional teaching methods simply don’t work for kids who have suffered chronic trauma like abuse, neglect or abandonment, which the CDC estimates is one out of two kids! Talk to our Group Sales Team to set up your team, school or district.

What is the right training for me/us?

INDIVIDUAL AND group training for TEAchers, coaches and schools

For teachers, the Intro course with Companion Guide for Educators is a great place to start. It dives into four of the seven principles of trauma-informed care—the impacts of trauma, maximizing felt safety, reducing overwhelming emotions, and managing overwhelming behaviors. The Companion Guide includes self-reflection and group discussion questions to help you process and put the learnings into practice.

For coaches, we recommend the Trauma-informed Leadership course with the Companion Guide for Coaches. This course focuses on applying the principles in a team environment.

Both courses are broken down into short video modules so you can learn at your own pace or use the four-week plan to discuss once per week as a group. Email our Group Sales team to get your school set up.
